GARMENT CARE INFORMATION
The sizing of some garments differ from today’s greatly!!, So where possible measurements areprovided. Please bear in mind that these are the garments actual measurements, so you must allow room for yourself to move unrestricted inside!! I always allow an inch on bust waist and hips as a good guideline. Some items are particularly roomy and l have mentioned this in the item’s description. To maintain the original quality of your garment, it is essential to keep the item clean. After wear gently wash clothing as per garment instructions (see cleaning below) and keep in damp free and smoke free environment. I recommend that when the clothing is completely dry, arrange in a large re-sealable plastic bag and store carefully. If preferred hang the item on a sturdy hanger and store in a garment bag.
CLEANING

As most of the clothing items currently in the attic were only recently unpacked from storage,
some items have acquired a vintage odour! Some of the items l have gently cleaned, others
l have left in their original packaging. o maintain the original quality of your garment, it is essential to keep the item clean.

Washing instructions and temperatures on garment labels
differ significantly today; advice for care of your garment should be as follows

1
For hand wash and dry clean only garments, the same instructions apply.
2
For machine washable garments, a 40 degree wash is recommended to all acrylic,
Terylene and polyester fabric.
NIGHTWEAR
As with all vintage clothing, many of the fabrics and materials are not currently favoured. Some  fibres especially  those used in nightwear were not fire retardent and are inflammable. extra care should be used when wearing and caring for these items.
LEATHER GOODS

To aid the longevity of a leather item it should be kept away from heat sources (radiators, fires and sunlight), as a living material. This will cause the leather to dry and crack, also avoid liquid spillage or excess rain as this can cause stains in some leathers. Regular applications of good leather feed or polish, will keep your favourite items supple and retain its natural lustre and appearance.

CARE TIPS FOR YOUR SHOES

To keep your patent leather shoes shiny and supple, rub Vaseline on the leather, leave for a few minutes and then buff them up, this will stop them from drying out and cracking. If your new shoes are too stiff and uncomfortable, rub castor oil in well and then leave them to dry. Have your crepe shoes faded? Using a matching oil pastel, colour and then cover with a neutral wax polish. Do your new shoes pinch your toes? Then they need softening up, so leave fresh potato peelings in the toe for 48 hours and then remove them. If your suede shoes need attention, don’t use a suede brush as it can be too harsh and can remove the top layer causing more damage than good. Use masking tape or cello tape to take away excess dirt. Use sandpaper on your nubuck shoes to buff themup. To bond those frayed ends or hard-to-thread shoe laces, burn the ends and reshape, they should be as good as new!
